I am originally from Queens, NY - Ozone Park. O.Z., as we called it, was an almost exclusively Italian neighborhood in the 1970’s. John Gotti lived walking distance from our house. There were mafia social clubs all around, and amazing pizza as well. My Godmother Millie would often sew at a machine in the basement of our apartment building. I greatly admired her skill.

Years later, I taught myself to sew in Portland, Oregon. Then, living in New York again in the early 2000’s, Barneys entered my life. I had found Xanadu. My heart raced for the pieces on the third floor made by independent designers — unique knits and handmade fabric bags. I planned my vacation time around Barney’s annual sales. And there were so many stimulating environments, at that time, to linger in and wear gorgeous clothes. To name a few: Kelley & Ping and Cafe Cafe on Greene street in Soho, Housing Works on Crosby, the East Village community gardens, Lincoln Center, The Read Cafe in Williamsburg…

In a reverie to that distinct time, place, aesthetic and tenor — I make pieces for individuals who appreciate craftsmanship, texture, and rarity.
